Hey, Does anyone know if the Skype Phones are accessable? or can be made accessable?
And, if so, can they be used also as a normal phone, like with texting and stuff like that?

If anyone knows anything about them, I'd appreciate any info.
Thanks

i don't want to sound abrupt, but no!. i actually got one for christmas, but when we tried it....it wouldn't go. we rang fredom scientific, but they kindly informed us that they have not made jaws and skype phones work with each other yet. shame really....i don't think they are even planning it iver. as for what they do, it's so you can call your skype contacts, only diffrence is that they can't hear any noise at your end. it's a phone, but just for use calling skype contacts

I also got one and have the same problem. Jaws and the skype phone don't work well together

not sure myself, although you may like to check out Blind cool tech (hope that works). They have some podcasts up there you can download about skype phones which should help.

They make devices that you can hook up to a regular phone and use VOIP with. Just google around. There're a bunch.

i tried a skype phone and did not like it at all. first of all, the jaws came through the skype phone instead of my laptop, and the sound was really really poor quality. not only that, but the phone slowed down my system and made all of my skype calls very very choppy. if u ask me, the skype phones r not worth it. i took mine back to walmart and got my money back for it. to tell u the truth, i was disgusted with the skype phones and will never purchase another one.

It would be really helpful if you all could tell us which phones you tried, so we can scratch those off the list of possible accessible phones.
